Detail
Lance Conzett is a Nashville native who grew up in the warehouses, basements, and decaying coffee shops of Music City’s DIY scene. Over the past ten years, he’s shot everyone from Neil Young to Kanye West, but he’s always been drawn back into the sticky punk mosh pits of Middle Tennessee. DON’T LOSE TOUCH is the culmination of a decade of getting kicked in the head by teenage crowdsurfers, all in the name of getting the shot.
After last year’s tragic fire at Ghost Ship in Oakland resulted in the abrupt closure of DIY venues DRKMTTR, Meal Ticket, and The Glass Menage, the vital need of all ages and DIY spaces in Nashville has never been made more apparent. These photos aim to show a brief personal history of DIY in Nashville, showing it for the explosive ball of inclusive positivity that it is. This show is dedicated to the teenage punk rocker inside us all, with balled up fists in the air and singing to the rafters.
