Last Saturday morning, I joined more than 15,000 of my fellow Nashvillians to march for equal rights. There’s nothing that I can possibly say that hasn’t already been said by thousands of more qualified people, but it was an honor to walk alongside so many people from so many different backgrounds, all united for the same cause. I can only hope that the message that we — and more than 3 million other marchers — sent was heard loud and clear, but even if it isn’t, I’m grateful for this community of people willing to work with each other for the betterment of our city.
